What we do:
Our aim is to provide sheltered housing for people who have worked in the distribution of newspapers and magazines in the UK, and their immediate dependents.
To this end, we have two sheltered housing estates: one in Lilleshall, Shropshire and one in Seaford, East Sussex.
Who we are
Old Ben Homes is a registered charity (charity number 1127979), registered in England and Wales. We are run by a Board of Trustees, drawn from the UK news trade.
We have been in existence since 1956, when plans were laid for our homes at Seaford. The estate at Lilleshall was purchased in the 1970’s when, for technical reasons, Old Ben Homes became a separate charity to The NewstrAid Benevolent Society (as it then was).
Old Ben Homes works closely with the NewstrAid Benevolent Fund, who appoint up to five of the managing trustees.
